Middlesex OPP say a woman has died after crash on Chippewa Road.
Members of the Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation Police Service, Oneida Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the Chippewas of the Thames Fire Department and OPP were dispatched to a report of a collision on Monday at about 9:15 p.m.
The investigation, thus far, has determined that the motor vehicle was travelling southbound on Chippewa Road, north of Jubilee Road when, for unknown reason, it left the roadway and struck the east ditch.
The female driver of the vehicle was rendered assistance by members of the public, police and EMS, however she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) is assisting with the investigation.
Chippewa Road was closed to traffic from Lower Chippewa Road to Jubilee Road for approximately four hours.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
