A 38-year-old woman has been charged after a vehicle crashed into a commercial building, demolishing a two-car garage.

Middlesex County OPP were called to the crash on Longwoods Road, near Gideon Drive, on Friday, at about 1:22 a.m.

Police say it involved a red Chevrolet sport utility vehicle, which was demolished in the crash.

The investigation revealed the SUV had been travelling eastbound on Longwoods Road.  The vehicle swerved, crossed the westbound lanes, and struck the north curb.

The vehicle continued, and struck gas pumps, and the surrounding security barrier.  The vehicle still continued, and struck the commercial building, demolishing a two-car garage (which contained two vehicles), and struck a parked vehicle, before coming to rest.

Hydro One, Superior Propane, Union Gas, the Middlesex Centre Fire Services - Delaware Station, and the Oneida Nation of the Thames Emergency Medical Services (EMS), also responded to the scene.

The driver, from London, was assessed by EMS, but not transported to hospital.

She has been charged with careless driving.
