Woman, 83, struck and killed by vehicle while crossing Simcoe street

SIMCOE, Ont. - An 83-year-old woman is dead after she was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday evening in Simcoe, Ont.

Norfolk County OPP say the woman was crossing a street (Ireland Rd.) when she was hit by a vehicle driven by an 80-year-old man.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was not injured.

Police have identified the woman as Ruth Rajtrowski of Norfolk County.

There was no immediate word of any possible charges.
