A man suffered minor injuries as a wild turkey flew up and knocked him off his motorcycle in North Middlesex.

Middlesex OPP say it happened on Sunday at 6:23 p.m. on Cassidy Road. The wild turkey flew up and struck him in his side, knocking him off the bike.

Police are warning drivers to be on the lookout for wildlife after other six other collisions in the area over the weekend.

The other collisions involved deer and racoons.

Drivers are urged to stay off their cellphones, wear their seatbelts, slow down and not drink and drive. By being alert, sober and driving responsibly drivers increase their ability to react to wildlife on the roadway in a safe manner, police say.
