WestJet is launching a new, twice-daily service between London, Ont. and Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The twice-daily flights will begin in March 2015 and use WestJet's Encore fleet of Canadian-made Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft.

Janet Carr, director of finance and human resources for London's airport, said in a statement, “It’s been 13 years since WestJet first came to town. We are excited WestJet has recognized the excellent partnership it has with London International Airport and the opportunity to provide additional services.”

For Londoners, the service opens up 52 new WestJet destinations and 47 new codeshare destinations via Toronto to Eastern Canada, the U.S., Caribbean, Mexico and Europe.

"Now, the rest of WestJet's ever-expanding network is available for London travellers - all with a simple and convenient connection in Toronto," said Chris Avery, WestJet vice president of network planning, alliances and corporate development.

One-way fares between London and Toronto are available starting from $52 plus taxes and fees.

London has been part of WestJet’s network since 2002.
