Western University has released the annual list of employees whose 2015 income met or exceeded $100,000, as reflected on their T4 slips.

The salaries are released as part of the Public Sector Disclosure Act. Also outlined on the list are taxable benefits for the year 2015.

The university says most of Western’s faculty and staff salaries are negotiated through collective bargaining and reflect reasonable compensation given the scope of individuals’ responsibilities, academic or professional credentials, expertise and years of service.

Western’s President and Vice-Chancellor, Amit Chakma is not included on this list for 2015 because his income did not meet or exceed $100,000.

The university says in April 2015, Dr. Chakma voluntarily decided to forgo his salary and directed that money toward repaying funds he had received in 2014 in lieu of not taking an administrative leave. He has repaid the full amount with interest.
