A website created by a group of medical students in London has won two awards in the Mental Health 2.0 competition.

At an awards ceremony in Toronto on Tuesday, the team was awarded third place overall and the People's Choice Award for their Vitals website.

The goal of the site was to improve mental health among students by helping with everything from building life skills to improving personal wellness.

While the website was designed for Schulich medical students, creators Kevin Dueck, Julian Surujballi and Daniela Kwiatkowski believe it could be adapted for other medical schools.

High stress levels faced by students during medical training and the high rates of depression are among the issues that prompted the idea for the website.
