Poor weather led to cancelled school buses and difficult driving conditions across southwestern Ontario on Wednesday morning.

Southwestern Ontario Student Transportation Services cancelled school buses in much of Middlesex and Oxford County.

There was chaos south and west of London as well, with all buses in Lambton County and Chatham-Kent (Zones 1-8) cancelled.

However, in Elgin County, there were no reported school bus delays or cancellations.

Western Region OPP are reporting that the 400 series Highways are problem free, but county roads and city streets may be snow-covered and slick with ice and/or freezing rain.

Police are advising drivers to stay home if possible, or leave extra time to get to their destination and drive with caution.

Anyone scheduled to catch a flight should call ahead, as the storm’s impact in the U.S. Midwest prompted almost 200 flights from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport to be cancelled or delayed.
