Bruce Peninsula OPP are thanking the public for their help finding 19-year-old Shawna Petonoquot of Saugeen First Nation.

Police say she was arrested shortly after an appeal went out on Tuesday asking for assistance to locate the woman.

Petonoquot was wanted on warrants including; assault with a weapon, two counts of uttering threats, assault cause bodily harm, fail to comply with undertaking and fail to comply with probation.

Police had said she "continues to pose a significant risk to the public."

According to investigators the most recent charges against Petonoquot stem from an incident just before 6 p.m. on Monday.

OPP were called to the Saugeen First Nation following reports of an assault on a 43-year-old woman, which led to the charges of assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats.
