OPP say a man who was wanted by police has been arrested in Upsala Township, north of Thunder Bay, Ont.

Douglas Archer, 62, who had known ties to Oxford County and Kingston, had been unlawfully at large since Saturday.

The OPP's Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad had put out a request to the public for help locating him on Sunday.

He was serving a multi-year sentence for breaching a long-term supervision order when he breached his parole.

He had also been behind bars for convictions including arson with disregard for human life, multiple counts of arson causing damage to property, criminal harassment and other counts.
