GUELPH, Ont. - Visitations will be held in Guelph on Tuesday and Wednesday for a 26-year-old officer who died in the line of duty last week.

Const. Jennifer Kovach was responding to a call when her cruiser crossed the centre line and hit a Guelph Transit bus early on Thursday last week.

The bus driver was treated for minor injuries and there were no passengers on the bus at the time.

Guelph Police Chief Bryan Larkin says the investigation into Kovach's death is ongoing, but he says she was responding to a call for assistance from another officer.

He says the other officer had made a traffic stop and was having difficulties with a drug suspect.

Larkin says the call to Kovach for back-up was "fairly common."
