A man suffered a broken nose, cuts and bruises after a violent home invasion in on Blackwell Sideroad, say Sarnia police.

Police are investigating the incident that took place in the 1800 block of Blackwell Sideroad on Jan. 11 around 8 p.m.

Officers say the suspect entered the house when the front door was opened by the victim, who was home alone.

Once inside the house, the suspect pulled a baseball bat from his coat and began assaulting the victim, say police. The victim was eventually able to disarm and force the suspect from the house.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 5’8”, with a medium build. He was wearing a hoodie under a dark coat.

As a result of the incident, the victim suffered a broken nose and sustained cuts, bruises and swelling on other parts of his body. The suspect may have been injured in the incident also.
