A man in a Sarnia coffee shop parking lot had all four doors and trunk of his vehicle open, allowing an officer to spot suspicious items.

On Monday, an officer on patrol pulled into the parking lot on Exmouth Street about 8 p.m. When he spotted the vehicle he could see a number of items that appeared to be brand new in unopened boxes. The officer could also see an expensive racing bicycle along with a number of valuable items packed into the back seat of the vehicle.

Police say the bicycle and all of the other property in the vehicle was stolen.

A 27-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property.

The majority of the items have been returned to the owners, but a power inverter and a socket set remain unclaimed.

If anyone believes the property belongs to them and can accurately identify it, contact Const. Jason Priddle at 519-344-8861 ext. 6219.
