A Woodstock woman had to be airlifted to hospital, following a serious crash south of Stratford.

Perth County OPP officers were called to Perth Road 112 and Line 29 on Tuesday, around 7:20 p.m. for a report of a collision.

Provincial police says a Dodge Caravan was travelling westbound on Line 29, when the van ran a stop sign and collided with a Honda Civic. The impact of the crash sent both vehicles into a nearby ditch and field.

The Township of Perth East Fire Department had to extricate the driver of the Honda. The 60-year-old Woodstock woman was airlifted to a London hospital with major injuries.

The 53-year-old St. Marys woman who was driving the Caravan was transported to a local hospital with major injuries.
