London police have charged two other men following a pair of robberies Wednesday.

Police say a man entered the FreshCo store at 645 Commissioners Rd. E with a pellet gun and demanded money from the cashier around 7 p.m.

"A number of bystanders assisted in detaining the suspect, and were able to remove the handgun from his possession prior to police arrival. Through investigation, it was determined that the handgun that was in the possession of the suspect was an imitation firearm (pellet gun)," police said in a release.

One witness said she was shopping when customers had to be evacuated.

Police say the same man had earlier entered a Petro-Canada gas bar at 614 Fanshawe Park Rd. E. and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police arrested and charged Stephen Hilliard, 44, with armed robbery, robbery assault with intent to steal, five counts of using an imitation firearm during the commission of an indictable offence, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of assault with a weapon.

On Friday, police announced that Terry Philip, 34, along with Shimon Philip, 29, were also charged with armed robbery and robbery assault with intent to steal.

No one was hurt in either incident.
