OPP are investigating after a minivan slammed into the side of a house in Allenford early Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to Highway 21, about 20 kilometres west of Owen Sound, around 7:20 a.m. for reports a vehicle had collided with a residence.

Police say it appears a westbound blue minivan lost control and collided with the northeast side of the home.

The 55-year-old male driver and a female passenger were extricated from the back of the minivan and transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The homeowner was in the residence at the time of the collision, but fortunately was not injured.

There was extensive damage to the home and the minivan, but no dollar estimate has yet been released.

An investigation into the collision continues.

Highway 21 was closed for about an hour due to the crash but has since re-opened.
