Tuckey Home Hardware, a fixture in Wortley Village for three generations, has expansion plans.
Located at the corner of Craig Street and Wortley Road since 1946, the store wants to expand to accommodate more product selection.
The plans include removing two older buildings and replacing them with a larger building, which will include the Fire Roasted Coffee store.
"Our storefront will remain the same as it is now and then the buildings that we're replacing will be the coffee shop in front,” says owner Dave Tuckey. “That one coffee shop will look like two buildings again to keep the landscape, the integrity of the street."
He says the city must approve the plans before any of the work can start.
Tuckey would like to start working on the project by July 1.
