Stratford police stopped a 28-year-old Toronto man twice in 14 minutes for allegedly using his cell phone improperly while driving.

He was stopped Sunday at 7:44 p.m. on Ontario Street in Stratford and given a ticket for driving a motor vehicle while using a hand-held communication device contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

A second officer, unaware of the first occurrence, stopped him at 7:58 p.m. on Erie Street. Police say the driver admitted to just receiving a ticket and was given a second ticket for the same offence.

With the two tickets, he faces total fines of $310.

Police say the vehicle he was driving had Bluetooth hands-free technology, which should have been utilized.
