Environment Canada has ended both a tornado watch and a severe thunderstorm warning for several southwestern Ontario communities.

The weather authority had issued the warning for Elgin, Simcoe, Delhi and Norfolk Counties, but all watches and warnings have ended.

Environment Canada had said conditions were favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which could produce tornadoes.

The system was expected to make landfall between Port Bruce and Clear Creek by 11 a.m. bringing a storm that could produce torrential downpours, lightning, two-centimetre hail and 100 km/h winds.

Updates are available on the Environment Canada website.
