A Tillsonburg man suffered life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle rollover in Elgin County.
The crash happened on Saturday, September 3rd, 2016, shortly after 8:00 p.m., on Plank Road near Tunnel Line, south of Vienna.
Police say a Volkswagen GTI northbound on Plank Road passed Teal Nevill Line, then went off the roadway and rolled numerous times. It came to a rest at a tree on the east side of the roadway.
St. Thomas-Elgin EMS, Oxford EMS, and Bayham Fire Department attended the scene. Paramedics and volunteer fire fighters tended to the individuals in the vehicle. A 20- year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, 20-year-old Craig Carpani of Tillsonburg is facing three charges including careless driving, having over 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood causing bodily harm, and being a young driver with a B.A.C. above zero.
Plank Road between Tunnel Line and Teal Nevill Line is closed while police investigate this collision.
