LONDON, ONT. -- There is the potential for severe weather overnight and Thursday, with heavy downpours and strong winds.

We started Wednesday with cloudy skies, but sunshine winning out early this afternoon.

The humidity is not quite as high as it was Tuesday, but we are still feeling the late July heat.

There is the potential for severe weather overnight and  early Thursday, with heavy downpours and strong winds.

Showers and the risk for thunderstorms will continue for the first half of Thursday.  Expect the rain to ease off in the afternoon.

A cold front associated with the Thursday system will bring a dip in temperature for Friday, and much cooler conditions for the holiday weekend.

Friday will be gorgeous, with sunshine.  It will be cooler than normal with low humidity and the daytime high will drop back into the low 20s.

You can expect more cloud Saturday, but the wet weather should hold off until Saturday evening. The chance for rain will linger into Sunday morning.

The region is back into a mix of sun and cloud  holiday Monday and cooler than normal temperatures will hold through the holiday weekend.
