WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGES - Huron County OPP say they are investigating after three dogs were found shot to death in a conservation area near Exeter, Ont.

The dogs were found in an area known as the Hay Swamp, which is part of the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority's lands.

Police were notified about the situation just after 2 p.m. Saturday, after a group of rabbit hunters reportedly located the dogs.

They were found lying in a ditch about 100 metres from the Parr Line and Rodgerville Road intersection.

Officials say the three male dogs - two mixed-breed hounds and one purebred Walkerhound - had all been shot in the head.

Two are described as light brown in colour, while one was primarily white with light brown patches.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers.
