London's beleaguered jobless have a new place to apply for work.

The Dr. Oetker pizza plant in the city's southeast end is now taking applications for upwards of 125 jobs.

The plant, off Bradley Avenue and Veteran's Memorial Parkway is nearing completion and the company has started the process of hiring food production workers.

The postings ask for previous experience in food production and for a flexibility on a three shift rotation.

Once fully operational, the $113-million plant is expected to produce up to 50-million pizzas a year for the Canadian and U.S. markets.

Although the prosperity comes with a price to taxpayers.

$19-million worth of repayable loans and funding were granted to the company to attract them to London.

An estimated 300 spinoff jobs will be created as the ingredients for the millions of pizzas are sourced from the region.
