Charges have been laid after an SUV crashed into a Chatham home on Wednesday.

A 68-year-old Thamesford woman has been charged with careless driving by Chatham-Kent police after losing control of her Ford Escape – striking a Berry Street house.

What remained was massive hole in the side of the house.

The driver and the lone occupant in the house were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Damage is estimated at $200,000.
