A 72-year-old Helotes, Texas man was arrested after police say he attempted to board a plane at the London International Airport with a loaded handgun.

While proceeding through the pre-board screening on Monday, a loaded handgun was discovered in a carry-on luggage as it passed through the X-ray machine.

London police say the loaded .357 calibre revolver was seized and the accused was arrested. He was in London to attend the ISU World Figure Skating Competition and was heading back to the U.S.

Joseph Frost was charged with careless storage of firearm. He remained in custody until he appeared in court on Tuesday.

At that point, the Crown Attorney's office reviewed the case and the charge was withdrawn. Frost has since departed for Texas.

Frost was licenced to carry a firearm but the gun was forfeited.
