Saugeen Shores Police say that a 15-year-old boy has died after he went missing while swimming in Lake Huron at Gobles Grove.
Police say that three boys were swimming Sunday evening when the waves and current began to pull them out deeper into the water.
A 50-year-old man from Toronto assisted one boy to shore while another managed to make his way in, but the third went missing.
Police, Fire and EMS all assisted in a search for the teen. He was located some time later by fire crews and taken to shore unresponsive.
Resuscitation efforts began on the way to shore and continued in the ambulance, however the 15-year-old was pronounced dead at hospital.
Saugeen Shores Police are investigating with an autopsy scheduled for Monday. The boy’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
