Police have a suspect in custody after a 31-year-old London man was stabbed and sent to hospital in critical, but stable condition.

Officers responded to a residence near Dundas Street and Dorrinda Street around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report that a citizen had been stabbed. No weapon has yet been recovered.

After an investigation, police began searching for two suspects who are known to the victim. They reportedly left the scene in an older, green four-door sedan.

The female involved was later identified and police say she is no longer a suspect in the case.

The male suspect was identified as 24-year-old John Huyzers of no fixed address. He was last seen in the area of Strathroy, Ont.

Huyzers is described as a white male, 6’0” tall, weighing 181 pounds with a muscular build and short brown hair.

He has several visible tattoos including a tear drop under his left eye and a large neck tattoo. He was wearing jean shorts and a grey T-shirt.

Police say he was arrested around 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday in the Queens Avenue and William Street area.

Charges are expected to include aggravated assault, break and enter and two counts of failing to comply with his probation.
