The Stanley Cup – the NHL's championship trophy – made several stops in the London area on Thursday.
Dave Bolland, who scored the cup-winning goal for the Chicago Blackhawks this spring, brought the trophy to London, where he lives in the off season.
“It’s always nice for me to give back and always nice to bring the Cup here to London,” Bolland says.
One of the highlights of the tour was a visit to the Children’s Hospital at the London Health Sciences Centre.
Bolland, who was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs after winning the championship, was honoured to bring the trophy to the hospital.
“All their eyes light up when I brought them the Stanley Cup and I was just glad to bring it there and have some fun with them,” he says.
The mug also made appearances at the Highland Country Club and a local gym, where Boland, a former London Knight, works out.
"I’m just really excited to see Dave Bolland,” one fan says.
Added Grant Cadotte: "You know, years ago, I had a chance to see Gordie Howe with the Stanley Cup and i didn't do it. But ...I didn't miss this one."
Each player on the NHL’s championship team gets to spend a day with the Cup.
Bolland also paraded the Cup through Toronto, where he grew up.
