A St Thomas man has been charged, after an alleged assault with a brick.

St Thomas Police say around 3:10 Friday morning, three men were walking on St George Street near Elysian Street.

A unknown man began yelling at them and ultimately charged one of the males, striking him in the face with a brick.

The suspect fled the area south of St George.

The victim was transported by EMS to Elgin General Hospital where he was treated for a couple of broken oribal bones and required 5 stitches.

The suspect was later apprehended by police leaving a William Street residence.

Devon Vandendriessche, 29, has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon.
