A constable with the St. Thomas Police Service has been suspended with pay following allegations of misconduct.

Officials say 37-year-old Const. Aaron Fraser, a St. Thomas resident, has been suspended from active duty as an investigation is completed.

Chief Darryl Pinnell said in a statement the allegation was brought to his attention Wednesday and relates to "the misuse of Police Service benefits offered through a third party company. "

Fraser has been with the force since 2008 as a member of the Criminal Investigations Branch.

The matter is under investigation by the Professional Standards Branch and police say no further information is being immediately released.
