St. Thomas man charged with various sexual offences
An elderly woman brought wartime ammunition to police in St. Thomas on Oct. 22.
A 24-year-old St. Thomas man has been arrested and charged with sexual offences related to alleged messages to a minor on Facebook.
St. Thomas police had been contacted by the victim’s family on June 2, regarding Facebook messages on their 15-year-old’s account.
They allege the accused had been offering money to perform sexual acts on the victim.
On June 5, after a thorough investigation, police arrested the accused.
He was charged with sexual assault on a person under the age of 16, sexual interference on a person under the age of 16, adult luring person under the age of 16 years of age by means of telecommunication, adult agreement to commit sexual offence against a person under 16 years of age.
No names have been released.
He remains in custody.
