Police have arrested a 57-year-old St. Thomas man after sexual assault allegations were made by a six-year-old girl.
An investigation began on Friday after police say the girl told her mother about being inappropriately touched while in the care of a family friend.
Following an investigation by the St. Thomas Police Service, a man was arrested on Saturday.
He has been charged with sexual interference and sexual assault and remains in custody.
Police are not releasing any names in the case to protect the identity of the victim.
