Middlesex County OPP have charged a St. Marys man with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle following a collision in Ailsa Craig, Ont.

According to OPP, officers responded to a two-vehicle collision Thursday on Main Street in Ailsa Craig.

Officers learned that a blue Chevrolet Impala was travelling on Main Street when they say the vehicle accelerated, striking a parked Cadillac.

No injuries have been reported.

When police arrived, a man was standing outside of his vehicle allegedly consuming alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest.

Police have charged 36-year-old Jay MacPherson of St. Marys with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, mischief over $5,000 and consuming liquor in other than licenced premises, residence or private place.

The accused will appear in a London court on January 30.
