Snow continues to fall in parts of the region as we head toward a deep freeze forecast for the weekend.

Environment Canada has issued watches and warnings as parts of the region are blanketed in snow.

Following a blast of snow Wednesday evening London could see more squalls during the day Thursday. Snow is in also in the forecast through Saturday.

A snow squall warning is in effect for London and Middlesex County, Huron and southern Perth County. Eastern

Parts of Lambton County and Grey County remain under a snow squall watch.

Lake effect flurries are expected to continue, with snow squalls moving in Wednesday evening and Thursday morning that could bring heavy and blowing snow, reducing visibility.

Snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cenimetres per 12 hour period are possible.

All this snow is a precursor to frigid cold, with temperatures on the weekend expected to drop to around - 20 C.
