An early morning incident at a downtown London Starbucks left staff and patrons more awake than any cup of coffee could have.

London police say a 52-year-old man has been charged after he smashed a window at the Starbucks at Dundas Street and Richmond Street.

Officers were called to the scene around 8:45 a.m. for reports that a man with a metal bar broke the window facing Richmond.

The incident happened during the regular morning coffee rush, but fortunately there were no injuries.
