SIU investigating following OPP chase in Lambton County
Provincial police say they began investigating last month after hearing from other law enforcement agencies that drugs were being imported in vehicles shipped to Canada by rail.
The province's Special Investigations Unit has invoked its mandate and is looking into a single vehicle rollover.
Around 11 p.m. Saturday night, OPP were conducting a RIDE program near the intersection of Nauvoo Road and Petrolia Line.
A northbound Pontiac failed to stop for officers and a chase ensued.
The vehicle left the roadway near Churchill Line and rolled into a ditch.
The male driver was taken to a London hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
A female passenger was also taken for treatment at a Strathroy hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
No police officers were hurt during the incident.
The SIU investigates matters where police are involved in situations of injuries, sexual assault or death.
