Two London police officers have been charged with assault causing bodily harm in connection with the arrest of a London man in November 2013.

In a statement, Tony Loparco, director of the SIU, says he has "reasonable grounds to believe the two officers...committed a criminal offence in relation to injuries sustained by 27-year-old Charles Snodgrass."

Snodgrass was arrested by two London police officers early on a Saturday in November 2013 and during the arrest, an interaction between the officers and Snodgrass resulted in him being injured.

As a result of the SIU investigation, London police Const. Gareth Harris and Const. Ryan Hendrick have been charged with assault causing bodily harm.

The officers are expected to appear in court on May 8, 2014.

The SIU says now that the case is before th ecourts the organization will not comment further on the investigation.
