Two-month-old Liam Watson died in hospital on Aug. 26, 2019, six days after being taken from a Cameron Street townhouse by paramedics.

On Thursday, OPP arrested 20-year-old Nathan Watson of Sarnia, Ont. and charged him with second-degree murder.

Stanley says multiple agencies participated in the complex investigation over the last year.

"The Chief Coroner's Office and the Forensic Pathology Service, together with our OPP Forensic Identification Unit conducted a very comprehensive investigation involving a number of investigators."

An obituary for Liam posted in Aug. 2019 says he is the youngest of three children and names his parents as Nathan Watson and Jessica Soney.

When contacted by CTV News, Soney said she was not yet ready to speak and asked for privacy.

A former coworker of Watson’s at a local fast food restaurant says he seemed very excited about his new baby a year ago, often showing people pictures.

The accused was being held in custody pending a court appearance in Sarnia on Friday.

OPP say they do not anticipate further charges in the investigation.
