A Sarnia woman is charged after police say she was found to be in possession of knives.

An officer was dealing with the woman Monday afternoon near Christina Street and Highway 402. During their conversation, the officer began to be concerned about an item in the woman’s waistband. That item was determined to be a knife.

The 27-year-old was arrested and police say was in possession of two more knives and shotgun ammunition.

The woman is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, fail to comply with probation and possessing ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

She was held for a bail hearing.
