A St. Patrick’s Day celebration took a bizarre and frightening turn on Monday.

Police quote witnesses who say a man at a party inside a Durand Street home began acting up and was asked to leave.

He demanded he be able to take some alcohol with him, but when he was told no the man became violent.

He reportedly punched a pregnant, 23 year old woman in the stomach and face.

When the woman’s boyfriend tried to step in he was thrown to the ground.

The accused then reportedly grabbed a kitchen knife and, holding it to the man’s throat, threatened to kill him.

Police say the man then made repeated threats that everyone was going to die before he left the home.

He was arrested a short time later hiding in the closet of a home on Devine Street.

24 year old Travis Wesley Gordon, of Sarnia, faces several charges including assault and assault with a weapon.

None of the victims were seriously hurt.
