A suspect is being sought after police say an online meeting ended with an assault when two people met in real life.

Sarnia police say the suspect and victim met on a website called fetlife.com, and the assault occurred when they met in the Sarnia area.

Investigators would like to speak man in connection with the incident.

He is described as a white male, about 35 years old, 6' tall, 250-300 poudnds with a large build. He has short, dark hair, is clean shaven and wears glasses.

Police believe the man resides in the Sarnia or Port Huron area and has connections in Ontario, Michigan and California.

He is believed to be driving a greenish blue, two-door, newer model (possibly 2007-2008) GMC Sierra 1500 Extended Cab 'Nevada Edition' pickup.

Police say the truck has a long box with a tonneau cover, with back and rear windows tinted. The driver’s side window had reportedly been smashed in mid-December.

Sarnia investigators are looking into a number sexual assaults that occurred during November and December of 2014.

Police are cautioning anyone who uses online dating sites to meet in a public place, tell someone when and where you are meeting and not to provide personal information that would indicate where you live or work.
