Middlesex-London EMS workers are doing their part to ensure everyone has a merry Christmas.
Paramedics spent the weekend collecting food and toys for the Salvation Army's Christmas Hamper program.
On Tuesday, crews delivered the haul to the Sally Ann at the Western Fair District.
"For six hours, we got 31 bins and over 300 gifts, so I can't even imagine if we did it all week," says EMS Brieanna Angel.
Paramedic's efforts will help over 6000 families looking for a Christmas hamper this year.
"Well, I'm overwhelmed. Driving up here and seeing the line up of people, really made it real," adds Angel.
Sadly, the need is still great.
"The lines were still active early this morning, so this is going to go a long way to put smiles on children's faces this Christmas," says Perron Goodyear of the Salvation Army.
The hamper program isn't the only Salvation Army campaign that needs help.
Its annual Kettle campaign is also falling short of its target.
The Sally Ann is $11,000 behind this time last year.
"We still need to raise almost $200,000 up until Christmas Eve, so we are hopeful that folks in London will get out to one of the Christmas Kettles, we've got over fifty locations around the city," says Goodyear.
