Two people made it out safely after a fire in a wood shed spread to a home in Blandford-Blenheim Township, southeast of Drumbo.

Oxford County OPP and several local fire stations responded to the home on Township Road 5 around 10:45 a.m. Friday.

Officials say the homeowners smelled smoke and found a wood shed attached to the home engulfed in flames.

The two residents were able to get out safely and call for help, however the fire continued to spread to the home.

No one was injured, but a cat was killed in the blaze

Township Road 5 between Motheral Road and Blenheim Road remains closed as crews continue to work at the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

No damage estimate is available yet - however the house was reportedly heavily damaged.
