Rourke Desmanche, 24, who was found guilty of assault and manslaughter in the death of his 10-week-old son, has been sentenced to 10 years behind bars.
Kurious George Rose-Desmanche was found unresponsive in a Pond Mills townhouse in southeast London in August 2010.
He spent several weeks in critical condition before being taken off life support and passing away due to a traumatic head injury.
Rourke, then 21, was arrested by RCMP in Saskatchewan about a month after the death after being charged by London police.
He had pleaded not guilty to the charges in a brief trial that took place in December 2012.
At the time of his conviction, Kurious's mother Tiffany Rose said she was "hapy that there's consequences for actions" and that she's trying to move on but she will always remember her son.
In her sentencing, Justice Helen Rady said Kurious was a vulnerable victim and "A more egreigious breach of trust is hard to imagine."
