The Canadian Red Cross and victim services of Bruce, Grey and Perth are assisting residents Saturday that were displaced by a fire in Owen Sound.
Police were called to the fire at Coach Inn in downtown Owen Sound about 2 a.m.
They found an active fire on the third floor of the building, which was evacuated.
About 40 residents live at the inn.
Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control but there was significant damage to some of the units, in addition to water and smoke damage.
Victim services were tasked with finding lodging for the residents and Laidlaw Transit provided some shelter and transportation services.
Six people were sent to hospital with smoke inhalation and non-life threatening injuries.
Officials say the Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in but say there is nothing suspicious at this time.
