London police say a suspect with a gun approached a taxi driver demanding cash before breaking in to Little Caesars Friday morning.
It happened around 6 a.m. in the area of Dundas and First streets.
Police say the cab driver drove away but then followed the suspect, who allegedly broke into a Little Caesars, smashing the front door.
The suspect apparently took a cash register and fled, but then dropped the register in the parking lot and went east.
The canine unit was on scene and police are hoping that surveillance video captured the incident.
The suspect is described as white, about 25 years old, 5’7" tall, wearing light blue jeans and a dark jacket and hoodie.
There were no injuries reported.
Also Friday, London police announced an arrest in connection with two robberies on Thursday night.
Officers were called to the Mac's Milk at 431 Boler Rd. around 11 p.m. for a man armed with a knife who fled in a vehicle with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Then around 11:40 p.m. a male reportedly entered the Pizza Pizza at 1040 Wonderland Rd. S. armed with a knife, again leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash.
However in the second case a citizen followed the suspect to a nearby parking lot and advised police of his location.
A knife and cash were recovered.
As a result a 30-year-old London man is facing three counts of armed robbery and two counts of wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence.
