London police have issued a warrant for a suspect after a 17-year-old male suffered a significant stab wound.

Police were called to 1090 Kipps Lane at 7:35 a.m. on Saturday.

It was reported to police that the victim and the accused knew each other and had been involved in a verbal altercation, which escalated to the victim being stabbed. The accused lives in the same complex as the victim.

The victim remains in hospital in fair condition.

After an investigation, police identified the accused as 27-year-old Jamel Gray. He was described as a black male with a medium to heavy build. He was last seen wearing a white tank top, brown shorts and possibly wearing a silver loop necklace.

A warrant for the arrest of Gray has been applied for aggravated assault and property damage, not exceeding $5,000.

London police officers are advising anyone who may see Gray to not approach him and to call 911.
