Police say toddler in Huron County died after 'accidental drowning'
Huron County OPP say the cause of death was accidental drowning after a toddler died on a farm near Lucknow.
Police say 18-month-old Fanny Yoder was pronounced dead at the hospital.
EMS and police were called to a family farm on St. Helen’s Line in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh at 8:55 p.m. Sunday after receiving a call for assistance.
Investigators say a group of siblings were playing outside when an 18-month old girl wandered away from the family to an adjacent barn where livestock was being kept.
When other family members realized the child had wandered off, they began to search for her and found her a short time later unresponsive in a water trough located inside the barn.
The child was rushed to an area hospital by paramedics however attempts to revive her were unsuccessful.
