London police and EMS spent much of the day in a parking lot after a wanted woman barricaded herself inside an apartment unit on Thursday morning.

Police were at a building at 76 Baseline Road West, near Wharncliffe Road, where they say a 41-year-old woman was refusing to come out of her apartment.

Officers had apparently gone to the building around 9:50 a.m. to arrest Carolyn Clark for breaching her conditions and that's when she refused to come out.

The Tactical Unit and negotiators were on scene until early Thursday afternoon trying to talk the woman out of the apartment as they were concerned for her welfare.

Eventually, officers rappelled down the outside of the building to enter the woman's apartment.

Clark was then escorted from the building without incident.

The original charges against woman included assault, causing injury to a dog and mischief, and are still before the courts.
