A Woodstock police officer has been charged with careless driving after her cruiser hit the back of another vehicle while she was responding to a call last week.

The charge comes following a police investigation.

Const. Crystal Hough, who has been with Woodstock police for six years, is facing a fine of $490 and the loss of demerit points.

The crash happened last Friday on Devonshire Avenue near Valleyview Drive at 11:30 p.m.

Damage to the cruiser was estimated at $3,000, while the other vehicle had about $1,000 in damage.

In 2011, Hough was demoted for fleeing the scene of an accident after she drove into a parked car.

Her rank was downgraded from first class to second class in that incident.
